Best Mobile Devices For Online Gaming

Online gaming has been around for a while now, but it has become more accessible to everyone and anyone over the past couple of years.

There was a time when the term online gaming conjured up images of teenagers sitting in their darkened room with headsets on, shouting at strangers. That was never entirely accurate, but today’s online gamer is very different indeed. Today, an online gamer is more likely to be playing on their phone at the back of a bus or in their workplace restroom.

How so? Because online gaming is not restricted to a console anymore. The advance in mobile technology has meant you can play anything, anywhere. You’ve likely played an online game today; are you caught up in the Wordle craze? If the New York Times owned game has got you hooked, then you’re an online gamer. It’s only the tip of the mobile iceberg as well.

Games on phones are convenient, and developers have played on that with their recent games. Take the casino industry; it was hard hit by the pandemic, with many locations still suffering the after-effects according to WPR. However, customers still wanted their gaming fix, and as a result, online casinos thrived. They evolved as well, and today’s mobile devices can see you playing with a live dealer, exemplified by the Gala Casino live games. Titles such as Immersive Roulette and Elevation Lobby put you in front of a real person, playing games you might play in an actual casino. They’re by no means an oddity either; live casino games can be found in many themes and styles across the genre.

As demonstrated, mobile gaming is not just people blasting each other on a fictional map; it is any type of game you play on your phone, on the move. However, with live dealers being streamed in real-time or Call of Duty maps needing to be faithfully reproduced while you’re on the go, demands on our phones have increased. Gamers look for bigger screens, better sound and more processing power, and with so many phones out there, finding the right one can be hard.

If you’re an online gamer and looking for some new hardware, these three might be worth considering.

Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max
Whilst waiting for the iPhone 14 to hit the shelves, gamers could do worse than hunt out the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Its main asset is its huge screen; at 6.7 inches, it is big for a phone but is certainly suitable for gaming, as you’ll see every movement on the CoD map or the expression on the dealer’s face around a roulette wheel. It also boasts the A14 Bionic chip, making it a powerful and fast option for gamers. It comes with a base 128 GB of storage, good for gaming, but that can be boosted to 512 GB which is more than some laptops have as standard.

ASUS Rog Phone 5
The ASUS Rog Phone 5 appeals to both gamers and non-gamers, meaning if you want to play and want a phone to use for general purposes, this is a good choice. Like the iPhone 12, it comes with a 6.7-inch screen, with 128 GB storage as standard. The Snapdragon 888 processor is no slouch, meaning you’ll not miss a beat, gunshot, deal or anything. The screen is great for gaming; it has an impressive refresh rate of 144Hz and a touch sampling rate of 300Hz.

Nubia Red Magic 5G
The obvious thing to note here is the 5G in the title; that’s crucial for modern gamers, with the 5G rollout happening soon across the US. 5G will be a game-changer for streaming casino games, with an unbroken and constant connection providing a great gaming experience. The Nubia has a 6.6-inch screen, and a Snapdragon 865 processor, but it is a good budget option. The screen isn’t quite as sharp as the ASUS, and it isn’t quite as quick as the iPhone, but it won’t hurt your wallet as much either.
