Massive Attack Plan
Massive Attack
With Weather Underground
With a headline like that, I'm sure
the National Security Agency will be doing
wiretaps all over Spacelab (click
here to see why), but with news like
this, it's worth it. Massive Attack
have announced some insights to their
upcoming album release for Weather
Underground.
Apparently the boys from Bristol have
been jetsetting back and forth from the
U.K. to New York to record new music while
working with TV On The Radio. Neil
Davidge has been doing knob twiddling
for the recording sessions.
The album is expected to be released
sometime around February 2007, so you'll
have to wait a while. The band is said
to have recorded over a hundred tracks
for their last album, 100th Window, and
the album was eventually paired down to
nine tracks. If that history is a guide,
the band has a lot of work to do.
But if you don't want to wait that long
for some Massive Attack goods,
you're in luck. The band will be releasing
a two disc 'best of' set of goods in March
called Collected. It will feature
some of the bands best music to date,
plus rare and reworked tracks, as reported
by NME. There's even a DVD to go with
it.
