Mates of State Threaten to Grow Really Huge,
Announce Tour Dates

Everyone's favoritie band/married couple combo Mates of State has been secretly plotting to capture world wide attention for some time now. They've been conspiring and plotting and planning to launch a full a full-on assault on our way of life.

It looks like that time might be approaching rapidly. First the band signed on with indie stalwart Barsuk Records in the label's own power play for indie supremacy last December. Then they announced the release of their upcoming album on Barsuk, titled Bring It Back, which is due out on March 21st.

But now the band is planning an invasion in the form of a tour through the south and the midwest. It appears to be only the beginning of the new state of Mates of State as more dates seem destined to arrive soon. The tour will go down in March and April, with a conspicuous absence of dates during the South by Southwest music festival. But a quick check of the schedule shows those dates are open, so maybe the band will end up at SXSW after all.
