New York's Grizzly Bear
and the Britain's Warp Records have announced that they're in love and they can't hide it from the world anymore.
To prove it to the world they'll be signing an exclusive contract to release Grizzly Bear's upcoming album, Yellow House, this Fall.
Singer and guitarist Ed Droste said “What it came down to was we were all devoted fans of Warp and its artists. The staff is amazing, and the dedication to artists was apparent. It seemed like the right thing to do, so we did it.”
Warp Records was equally gushing, saying “Grizzly Bear are the most exciting band I’ve heard in quite some time and their musical development in the past 6 months has been staggering. The new material is so achingly beautiful, expansive, and sprinkled with moments of heartbreaking pop.”
So for now the lovefest is new but strange, as Warp Records is more known for unleashing strange and experimental electronic artists, like Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, and LFO. Grizzly Bear are equally experimental, but stick much more to the indie pop realm.
For the next few months, you can catch them in Canada and Europe before the album release this Fall:
