deadboy & the Elephantmen have announced a small string of dates for May, to be followed by two summer festival appearances, at Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza. They are Dax Riggs (vocals, guitar) and Tessie Brunet (drums, vocals) but don't ever ever ever mention the White Stripes, as deadboy & the Elephantmen fans tend to be just a little hyper sensitive about the comparison.
Their music is a slow churning of
sludgy, dry guitar distortion methodically
plodding through a steady drumbeat.
Sometimes it's Kurt Cobain Jesus
Lizard guitar sounds. Sometimes
it's just an acoustic guitar and
a quiet duet with drummer Tessie
Brunet.
The band is coming off of a slot on the Fiery Furnaces tour and is touring in support of their current release We Are Night Sky.
They'll be playing the May dates as opening act for Wolfmother, an australian band of high energy seventies rock rechanelled through indie rock vibes.
