Spain's Sonar Festival is a mashup of music, film, and video, presented as an experimental and multimedia festival. It's a largely electronic and eclectic set of musicians and artists that converge on Barcelona, Spain to watch, listen, and freak on the new media explosion.
And it includes some great names, some of the best electronic and experimental acts in the world. Check out this small sampling and then figure out how to get to Spain right away: Nightmares on Wax, Sasha, Laurent Garnier, DJ Shadow, Eliot Lipp,Hot Chip, Goldfrapp, Digable Planets, Miss Kittin, and Richie Hawtin. This list is only a small part of who will be there.
Other scheduled highlights for this year are: Tokyo Noise, a 2002 film that merges the urban feedback of scenes in metropolitan Tokyo with noise soundscapes.
