Anyone missing out on this year's Leeds Festival for Carling Weekend can rejoice. The festival has just announced that they've put 13,000 more tickets on sale for the Leeds location. The festival's Reading and Leeds events sold out earlier this month in a mere hour. The festival is one of the UK's biggest, and helps to marke the end of a European summer festival season.
Festival organizers said "... the Licensing Panel of Leeds City Council have granted an increase in capacity to 70,000 including guests, for Carling Weekend: Leeds festival and as a result of that, Leeds festival organisers are to release an additional amount of weekend and day tickets."
Given that there was already a big waiting list for tickets, they added "The vast majority of those tickets are already spoken for, with the waiting list that was set up following the unprecedented sell out of tickets on April 3. The people on the waiting list will need to respond to an email being sent by Mean Fiddler, by 9am on Tuesday (May 2), in order to take advantage of the reserved allocation."
The Carling Weekend is dual city festival, with bands splitting their time between the Reading and Leeds events. Acts for this year include Muse, Franz Ferdinad, Pearl Jam, Kaiser Cheifs, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Wolfmother, among others.
