Portland's Minders have announced a set of summer tour dates for the US, in support of their upcoming album It's A Bright Guilty World. It's due out on July 18th on Future Farmer Records. They'll be touring with The Kingdom and Of Montreal, based on dates.
The album's title was taken from Lady From Shanghai, a 1947 Orson Welles film. Welles utters the words "it's a bright, guilty world" before commiting murder. "I thought that it was appropriate and posed a perfect frame for this project," said guitarist and vocalist Martyn Leaper.
The band is part of the now infamous Elephant 6 Collective, a group of artists that led to the creation of bands like Apples in Stereo and Of Montreal.
