Radiohead Frontman Thom Yorke
Announces Solo Album
By: Spacelab Research Staff
In a bold solo move, Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has announced plans to release a solo album as Radiohead continue to tour and refine a new batch of songs. This must be part of a new, make it up as you go Radiohead strategy to keep us all guessing as to what they're going to do next.
The album is titled The Eraser and is due out on July 11th on XL Recordings. By all accounts this appears to be an international release, but that's unconfirmed at this point. Thom Yorke is calling it a "beats & electronics" album. The music was produced by Nigel Goodrich, and the artwork will be provided by longtime Radiohead album cover artist Stanley Donwood.
Radiohead is currently touring in Europe and demoing new material. Over the weekend, the band debuted the new song Go Slowly at Blackpool's Empress Ballroom, alongside other new tracks and I Want None of This from the War Child compilation. After the tour, Radiohead will return to their studio to complete work on their new album, due out sometime next year.
