Suoni Per Il Popolo ("Sounds for the People") Festival Is Going Down Right Now In Montreal
By: Spacelab Research Staff
Liberate yourself from repressive sounds in Montreal this summer. The Suoni Per Il Popolo Festival (Sounds for the People Festival) will hold a populist festival of music and experimental sounds for the masses to rise up and defeat the autocratic sounds of normalcy. Long live the revolution!
Now in it's sixth year, the festival is described as free jazz, noise, electronica, turntable art, soundscapes, experimental rock, electronica, musique actuelle and spoken word. It includes bands like Aids Wolf, Excepter, the Wharton Tiers Ensemble, Bardo Pond, Pink Mountaintops, and more for a massive 25 days of music in locations around Montreal. You can camp in the streets and start a social revolution! Or you can at least check out some cool innovative music by by very experimental artists...
You can also check out their compilation CD, with music from some of the bands performing at the festival, due out later this year.
