Folk/experimental/noise artists The Twilight Sad have made a step up in the world and signed to FatCat Records in the UK. The band itself is from Glasgow, Scotland, and plays a sort of lo-fi experimental sound with a willingness to experiment and and a knack for pop abstraction.
FatCat signed the band on the strength of some demos the band had given the label. The original 4 songs were recorded and produced by the band in a full studio, but when FatCat asked for more songs the band took a 90 degree turn and decided to start recording anywhere, including bedrooms, bathrooms, and their rehearsal space.
FatCat will release an EP of currently untitled material in November, after the band has spent some time in a studio. Although the songs at their MySpace page seem to have a certain nuance for sound and melody, the band is reported to have a more wall of noise sound when playing live.
