Formed from members of the bands PVC and Apparat, Audionom is a swedish band of visionaries that formed in the late nineties and integrated a love of German krautrock with new wave, no wave, film, and punk to create a hybrid sound that brings together sounds of Joy Division and perceptions of new media.
After releasing an EP and a split LP with Sickoakes, the band was discovered by Kemado Records own Keith Abrahamsson, which led to the band siging on with Kemado to release Retrospektiv, a collection of songs that the band recorded from 1999-2002. “It was just one of those right time, right place instances that ended up working out for us,” said Keith when talking about signing of the band.
Retrospektiv will be released in the US on September 19th.
