Probably the coolest of all festivals on the planet (and one of the oldest), Roskilde Music Festival has the credibility, history, and coolness that literally no other festival in the world has.
It's located in Roskilde, Denmark, and is one of the largest festivals in Europe. Each year it attracts about 50,000 visitors plus tens of thousands of volunteers, who work at the festival to get in. It's a festival commune!
They've got some great names, including Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Coldcut, Death Cab For Cutie, Happy Mondays, Kaiser Chiefs, Damian Jr. Gong Marley, The Raconteurs, Sigur Ros, and Wolfmother, because you have to have at least one band with the word Wolf in their name or it doesn't classify as a music festival.
