Sebadoh III Reissued in Europe, On Its Way In August for US
By: Spacelab Research Staff Domino Records has reissued one of Sebadoh's greatest albums, Sebadoh III. The long out of print album was made available on Domino Records in Europe starting on July 10th in Europe and on August 8th in North America.
It features Sebadoh at the height of their musical experimentation — noisy, scratchy, and bombastic. Sebadoh was one of the few bands that could make the world sound like it was exploding while doing it through the extremely thin dynamics of lo-fi sound.
The album has long been out of print and in great demand, even fetching large sums on eBay. The Domino reissue will also include a second disc that includes b-sides, rarities, and songs from the Gimme Indie Rock EP. Domino is quick to point out that the disc is 'swollen' with tracks recorded around the time of the Sebadoh III sessions, all highly experimental and pushing the confined boundaries that indie rock had set out to smash but ended co-opting in the end.
“I felt the music of the underground had become one-dimensional, noisy, and I wanted to fashion my own response to that,” said Lou Barlow when talking to Mojo magazine. That's where Sebadoh III begins, and this story ends.
