There never were any final Grandaddy shows, but now you can see the next best thing. After the slow disintegration of Grandaddy, Jason Lytle announced solo ambitions as the next big step in his musical career. Today he starts a US tour of solo shows in which he'll play acoustic songs as well as songs from the last Grandaddy album, Just Like The Fambly Cat. It's officially titled Look Who Drifted Into Town Tour: An Evening With Jason Lytle.
He's dragging multi-instrumentalist Rusty Miller of Jackpot on the road with him. The shows will feature impromptu words and discussion from Jason, based on his show earlier this year at Other Music in New York, in which he got really chatty with the audience and the audience seemed to like it.
