Spiritualized Announces Small European Tour, New Material
By: Spacelab Research Staff Spiritualized's Jason Pierce, aka J Spaceman and now just Spaceman, has announced some new activity for Spiritualized in the form of a small set of acoustic UK tour dates. He'll be road testing some new Spiritualized material and playing older material from Spacemen 3 and Spiritualized.
In an announcement on the Spiritualized web site, he said that he'll be "accompanied on all dates by a string quartet, gospel singers and Doggen on Fender Rhodes."
Spaceman has also picked up where he left off on the new Spiritualized album, due for release in 2007. The new material on the tour dates is presumably part of that release, played live in an acoustic format.
Jason Pierce has been recovering from an illness that hospitalized him in 2005. At the time he was working on the same new material when he was struck by an illness that almost killed him twice. He was hospitalized and eventually released, and has spent most of his time recovering since then.
