Australian band Wolfmother have grown into their own international status in 2006. After the release of their self-titled album, and being used in an iPod ad, they've seen a tremendous boost to their popularity. They've been touring furiously throughout the year, and have just announced more dates for the US.
Wolfmother have been compared to Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Pink Floyd, with good reason. They rechannel the sounds and aesthetics of those bands in more of an indie rock kind of way. Wolfmother actually wear it on their sleeve, proudly adorning it like a badge of honor. Watch it live in action at one of these shows:
