The time has come for The Knife — they've just released an album called Silent Shout courtesy of Mute Records. It's being released for the first time in the US, but was originally released in Europe on Brille Records, the band's UK home. The album was recorded in a carbon dioxide factory and the Grand Church in Stockholm.
The band hails from Sweden and plays music akin to the early days of industrial and kraut, with an electronic sound revamped for the times. It's cold, its dark, but there's a warmth and vibrance to the sound which gives it a lot of life.
It's a family affair, with brother and sister duo Olof Dreijer and Karin Dreijer Andersson. They're also known for writing Heartbeats, a song for label-mate Jose Gonzalez. Now you can have your Knife and play it too.
