At this point, it might be easier to list the cities in which Frank Black is not playing, rather than the ones that he is. Old boy has announced a very long and ambitious set of US tour dates, that will take him from the end September through most of November.
In August, he'll play open for Foo Fighters, and his two dates in September are with Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. After that, it's on th his own headlining tour for October and November. It'll be his first solo tour since 1995.
He's touring in support of the double album of solo material titled Fast Man Raider Man that he released on June 20th. He said that he's looking forward to the open environment that the solo tour will give him. "I like the idea that I don't have to 'follow the beat,' that I can pull the songs a part a little bit, change the set right there on stage if I want.
Mr. Black has also been working with his partner in crime Eric Drew Feldman (Captain Beefheart, Pere Ubu) on some new material due for release later this year.
