Atlanta's Snowden are set to release their new album Anti-Anti on August 22. They're led by Jordan Jeffares, who wrote the music when he lived in Athens, but when he hit the big city and found some like-minded musicians and formed Snowden.
Although the band may cringe at how many comparisons they get to the shoegazer aesthetic, there is some of that in their sound. There's also elements of drone, pop, and something dark that I can't really put my finger on. Their label, Jade Tree, calls them "reverb heavy and dirty pop to the core." It's kind of a fitting description.
They're also on tour this August and September around the US.
