Described by their label Peek-A-Boo Records as "ambidextrous equipment failure junk-tronica," The Octopus Project create a hybrid of sounds loosely based around experimentalism, electronic leanings, and well, whatever they feel like throwing in at any particuliar moment.
The band is located in Austin, Texas, and has been spreading out across the globe for a few years now. Perhaps one of the most interesting things about their touring has been the fact that they somehow were entered into a MySpace contest to win a spot in this year's Coachella Music Festival. They didn't enter themselves, and still to this day don't know who did. But they won, and went on to play a smashing show, as they did in their hometown South By Southwest Music Festival this Spring.
They've recently collaborated with their friends Black Moth Super Rainbow to release an album called The House of Apples & Eyeballs. The MP3 link below is for songs from that release.
