San Diego's the North Atlantic have embarked on a tour in support of their latest release, Wires In The Walls. They're on a mission to "quash the pessimism and stagnancy born of a million micro-genre obsessed musical taxonomists, holier-than-thou scenesters and kids who think they've seen and heard it all." Apparently this will involve lots of whiskey and boundless energy.
Wires In The Walls was released on July 6th on the aptly-titled We Put Out Records label. The North Atlantic makes noisy post-punk from southern California, and has returned from a three-year hiatus while band member Jason Hendrix attended the School of the Art Institute in Chicago. Apparently the band had the album finished before he left, but only made a small pressing. Now it's out in full force, and the band is hitting the road:
