More new school from Toronto. Tokyo Police Club shows us why Toronto has become one of the biggest launching pads for new music in modern times.
Their music includes rumbling bass lines mix with jagged guitar lines to merge into the superform of indie rock with distorted, grilled vocals. They've garnered comparisons to David Bowie, Joy Division, and Pavement. It's like slight noise mixed with melody and hooks.
Their album, A Lesson In Crime, is set to drop on October 10 via the Toronto-based Paper Bag Records. Tokyo Police Club will be out touring around with the likes of the Octopus Project, Polyphonic Spree, and Art Brut depending on dates in September and October.
