Death Cab For Cutie

Death Cab For Cutie And The Tour That Will Never Die

By: Spacelab Research Staff
The tour that will never die. Some breaks in between legs of touring you know, to recharge, but Death Cab For Cutie has just announced plans to do their third tour in support of last year's album Plans. Leg breaks, again with the metaphors. I'm on a roll.

It was just over a year ago they laid the album Plans on us, with all of it's emoness and straight-forward sense of delivery. They definitely made an impact, as a bunch of squishy bands have jumped up to copy DCFC and their now patented sound. But nobody does it like Death Cab does. 744,000 album sales in the U.S. alone, according to Billboard.

At this point I might be saying 'catch em on tour before they go away' but given how many times they've been out for this album, we could just see a Winter tour. I can visualize the story now, "Death Cab For Cutie launches groundbreaking fourth tour in support of Plans while recording new album..."

They'll play with Ted Leo and the Pharmicists through November 20th, before hooking up with OK Go for a few days, and Jenny Lewis will wind out the tour.
