SIGNED: Matador Signs the Australian Band Love Of Diagrams + MP3

By: Spacelab Research Staff
Matador Records has announced the signing of Australian band Love of Diagrams. In a statement from the label, they proclaimed themselves "happier than Donald Rumsfeld holding the Aspartame patent," so you know, they must be pretty excited. The band has been crashing around the international scene on the Australian label Unstable Ape and The UK's Passport Label for their 2003 debut full-length release The Target Is You.

The band finished the recording of their new album this past Spring at Electrical Audio Studios in Chicago with Producer Bob Weston (Mission Of Burma, Shellac) and will be released sometime in early 2007. The working title for now is Mosaic, but may change before the release of the album.

There's also talk of an EP coming out on Matador before the album release, but according to the band, it will be releasing an EP shortly on their Autralian label Unstable Ape, including two tracks from the Bob Weston recording session. Same EP? Time will tell.

"So for now, in Australia you can buy our self titled EP out on unstable ape, which features 2 live tracks, ( including a cover of the pylon song 'cool') and 2 tracks from the upcoming album, plus 2 album outtakes from the same session," the band announced on their MySpace page.

The EP is now available through the Australian label, and the band plans to fully kick off the release with a show in Melbourne on September 30th.
