Purveyors of intelligent dance music and competent remixers in their own right, the duo of Michael Fakesch and Christian de Luca, better known as Funkstörung, have announced the end of the band/project. It's a parting and reawakening more than a bad split, with new projects already in the works for both of them.
In a message on their web site, they said "This is definitely not an easy thing to write, but it's something that needs to be heard; Funkstörung has split up. Whatever the reasons were: musical differences, personal problems, the distance of 700 KM between Rosenheim and Chris' new place in Berlin - who cares.... fact is we both agreed it's better to focus on solo projects from here on out. This is extremely sad news as we have worked together for 12 years and had really great times along the way; for that, we owe you all a great deal of thanks."
Michael Fakesch has set up shop making music for TV ads and movies for clients like Toyota and GettyImages, while working on a new album with Taprikk Sweezee to be released in Spring 2007 on K7 Records.
