As hard as it might be to imagine after reading the title, it's repackaging of all of their old UK singles. A full 19-disc retrospective of the music as it was released over the years... each disc represents a digital version of the vinyl release, complete with it's own replica sleeve. Now you can relive the excitement and idealism of the Clash singles in digital form! OK, it's not the same as vinyl, but digital is the next best thing to being there.
It's been done with the blessing and participation of Mick Jones and Paul Simonon, who made the decision of what bonus tracks to include, as well as providing artistic direction. There's also a 44-page book with liner notes, artwork and photos. Liner notes are provided by people like Mike D, The Edge, Bobby Gillespie, Steve Jones, Damon Albarn, Pete Townsend, and Bernard Sumner, to name a few.
The Clash: The Singles will be released on November 14th on Legacy Recordings.
