PJ Harvey To Start Recording New Album In November
By: Spacelab Research Staff PJ Harvey has announced that she'll start recording a new album in November. She's written a number of songs already, and stated that she took a different path this time and wrote the songs on piano. The statement on her web site said "As mentioned by Polly during recent appearances, the new material has been written mainly to piano, a brand new departure for Polly," without mentioning whether the album will follow through and be piano-based, or if this was just a new way for her to write music. She'll be working with Flood and John Parish in the studio.
No title or release date has been announced yet.
This will be the first full-on new studio album since Uh Huh Her was released in 2004. She'll also release PJ Harvey - The Peel Sessions 1991-2004 on October 23rd. All the songs were recorded on the John Peel show from 1991-2004 and will be released on Island Records.
She joins other acts commemorating the second anniversary of his death, including Siouxsie and the Banshees and Pulp, who will also release their own set of Peel Sessions during October.
