Cursive Members Working On New Album, Screenplay + MP3
By: Spacelab Research Staff Cursive are touring right now in support of this year's release Happy Hollow, but the band hasn't wasted anytime in working on new material -- they're writing new songs on the road. In a recent interview with Billboard, frontman Tim Kasher said that the band is working on new songs that will be recorded in January and released in Fall of 2007.
Tim also said that he's working on a solo project: a screenplay for a movie called Help Wanted Nights. No word on when it will be done or how he's going to release the movie.
Cursive is in the midst of an extensive tour that will end in November, with the band finishing in their home state at Tulsa, Oklahoma's Caine's Ballroom. Opening acts for the rest of the tour are the Thermals, Jeremy Enigk, and Chin Up Chin Up and End Of The World.
Happy Hollow is the band's fifth full-length album and the follow-up to 2003's The Ugly Organ. It's been described as discordant and cathartic, with a lot of new diverse sounds - like gospel, blues, and even an occasional groove.
