All Tomorrow's Parties Announces ATP Vs. The Fans for 2007

In a move that's somewhat reminiscent of the Sub Pop Vs. singles series of yore, All Tomorrow's Parties organizers have made plans for another 2007 version of the transient festival... a mashup of planning between All Tomorrow's Parties and the audience.
This is for the May 18th event, and anyone who buys a ticket will be allowed to cast a vote for what half of the lineup will be. Starting on November 24th, ticket holders can submit a top ten list of bands they want to see.
An ongoing list of the bands will be shown in real time at www.atpfestival.com, and then ATP organizers will start to ask bands from the list about playing. Eventually, available bands that the festival can work with will make their way to the festival. ATP people are saying they cannot just 'just because a band is at the top of the list does not mean they will play,' meaning that some bands are too big to ask to a small festival or might not be available on the date of the show. They suggest not voting for someone of Bob Dylan's caliber, and that they are 'unable to raise the dead.'
As for now, All Tomorrow's Parties has booked Built To Spill, Sparklehorse, Death Vessel, The Notwist, Do Make Say Think, Akron Family and Echo and the Bunnymen for the gig.
