Explosions In The Sky

Explosions In The Sky Get Ready For Spring Journey + Stream

By: Spacelab Research Staff
Explosions In The Sky are set to play a bunch of shows this Spring (in the US, not the sky). They'll be blowing people's minds with songs from their new album called All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone, which will be released on Temporary Residence Ltd. on February 19th/20th.

The album was recorded at Minnesota's Pachyderm Studios by John Congleton (The Mountain Goats, The Roots) and brings six songs of Explosions In The Sky goodness that clock in at 44 minutes. With songs that range from three and a half minutes to thirteen and a half minutes, it promises to be well stacked with music to fill in iPod playlists. The music is like Mono joined with Kinski joined with Sigur Ros. In the sky.

"We don't want to repeat ourselves, and we actually scrapped six months worth of songs because of that," Hrasky says. "We were sounding a little too much like things we had done before. I think these songs flow better. We wanted it to be more visceral sounding, a little bit more uncomfortable than our previous records. We want it to feel like it's about to fly out of control," said drummer Chris Hrasky in an interview with Billboard.

There's also a remix album, with appearances by Four Tet, Jesu, Adem, The Paper Chase, Mountains and Eluvium. It's a limited edition run, with only 20,000 copies pressed, so buy the album early or pick it up from the band on tour at one of these dates:
