Faster than a sleight of hand, Benjy Ferree is out on tour starting today, playing 8 shows in 11 days. It's the east of the Mississippi tour, in support of his latest album Leaving The Nest on Domino Records.
Originally planning on being an actor, Benjy moved out to California in the hopes of making it big in Hollywood. He ended up being a caretaker for the kids of an L.A. scriptwriter, and sang them songs to keep them entertained. "I remember entire months spent singing Dylan and Beatles songs together with those kids, " he said about the whole ordeal.
He combined a baptist upbringing of singing hymns into what he now knew about music and film, and started writing songs. Eventually Domino Records picked him and released Leaving The Nest.
