Gomez And Ben Kweller To Co-Headline On Winter Tour
By: Susan Frances Gomez and ATO Records labelmate Ben Kweller have confirmed a month-long, co-headlining North American tour from mid-February through mid-March. The four-week run, which follows a January arena tour with Gomez supporting O.A.R. through the Midwest and East Coast, kicks off February 15 in Seattle, Washington and continues across the country through March 11 closing in Northampton, Maine. The Gomez/Kweller show will hit such major cities as New York, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Boston, San Francisco, and Dallas to name a few. They will also perform one show in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The Yorkshire folk-pop quintet of Gomez received high accolades for their latest album How We Operate which made many critics' Best Of 2006 lists including The Wall Street Journal and the Boston Herald. The 25-year old Texas native Ben Kweller attracted a younger crowd with his eponymous third studio album impressing critics from Spin Magazine, Harp, and the Alternative Press. The cherub faced singer-songwriter will be accompanied by a three piece band on stage. The folksy/blues acoustics of Gomez and Kweller will offer audiences the intimacy of an unplugged show with an arena setting and melodic-pop aesthetics.
