Coming out of the Jagjaguwar Records imprint called Brah Records, psych-folk band Oakley Hall have signed to Merge Records for a new full length album due out sometime in the Fall of 2007.
The band represents the dichotomy of the country mouse / city mouse story. Their roots Americana sound is very midwestern and rurally influnced. The band, however, resides in the middle of Brooklyn, so they obviously are connected to modern city life. Their music ends up somewhere in between, influenced by both.
They released a full length album on Brah Records titled Gypsum Strings, and will go on to release a full-length album in Summer of 2007 for Merge Records.
