By: Spacelab Research Staff Battles has been almost portrayed as the "Boston" of indie rock in the past — that is that they are the closest thing that you can get to a supergroup in the indie world. You can make your own judgements on how the quality of each band's music compare, but for now, you should know that their long anticipated album will be released in late Spring of this year.
Warp Records will be offering a single of the song Atlas on 12” vinyl and download, which features a remix by Kompakt’s DJ Koze, in advance of the album. The single will be available on April 2nd.
The full length album, Mirrored, will go on sale on May 15th.
They're also playing dates in both the U.S. and Europe. U.S. shows will feature acts like Mary Timony Twilight Sad and Loney, Dear. In Europe the band will play a few shows with Warp labelmate Clarke, and appear at All Tomorrow's Parties and Rome's Dissonanze Festival.
