James Toth has signed on to Thurston Moore's Estatic Peace label for the next installment of the Wooden Wand series, an album that's being billed as 'accessible.' That's right, accessible. It will be titled James and the Quiet.
In a move towards the unexpected, Mr. Wand has been listening to a lot of Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson, and as a natural progression decided to deviate from his normal experimentalism and offer more conventional songwriting.
James and the Quiet will also feature Sonic Youth's Steve Shelley on drums and Lee Renaldo as producer. It will be released by Estatic Peace on May 15th.
