And then there were three. The Pitchfork Music Festival has announced some of the acts for the 2007 Pitchfork Music Festival, including Cat Power, Of Montreal (naked, perhaps?), Iron and Wine, and Grizzly Bear. There's more to come, they've got a lot of time to fill.
And you better get there for the new Friday night part, which is a collaboration with All Tomorrow's Parties Don't Look Back Series, which invites artists to go ahead and look back anyway by playing one of their older albums in it's entirety. Sonic Youth recently announced plans to play their seminal Daydream Nation at a UK version. Pitchfork hasn't said who will play this Friday night gig yet... they want to parcel out the lineup in pieces.
It all happens in Chicago at Union Park on July 13th -15th. They've also added a podcast that features the music of some of the bands with news about the festival. It's like NPR and Pitchfork, at the same time!
