Caribou Gets With Merge Records For New Album + MP3
By: Spacelab Research Staff Caribou will have a new home with Merge Records starting with the new album Andorra. The album will come out on August 21st in the US, and August 20th in Europe via City Slang.
Caribou is the vehicle of electronic experimentalist Dan Snaith. After creating music under the name Manitoba, Dan was served legal notice by Dick Manitoba's private investigator thug to change names or see him in court. Although Dan thinks he could have won, he decided to take the path of least resistance and change the name of the project to Caribou.
“I'm super-happy with the way the album has turned out. I've put seemingly endless hours into it over the last year or so getting everything exactly as I wanted it and have never been this madly excited about my music. I can't wait for you all to hear it and hope you'll like it too,” said Dan when speaking about the album. He also added that She's The One was cowritten with Jeremy Greenspan (Junior Boys) who also sings on the track.
Andorra will sound more like a full band album, thanks to Dan's touring for the last album, The Milk Of Human Kindness, which included Peter Mitton and Ryan Smith.
