Coachella: Bjork and Jesus And Mary Chain Go Over Big
By: Spacelab Research Staff
Coachella came to a close yesterday, ending months of buildup around a great lineup and the reunions of the Jesus and Mary Chain, Rage Against The Machine, and Crowded House.
The festival was also the world's first look at Bjork's new live performance in support of the new album Volta, which seems to have won people over pretty impressively. In patented Bjork style, she took the performance to a whole new level with a brightly colored stage, well balanced but not excessive theatrics, and oh yeah, a REALLY GOOD PERFORMANCE. I don't know where she gets all of her energy from, but I want some too.
The Jesus and Mary Chain performance did include the rumored appearance of actress Scarlett Johansson, as she came out near the end of the band's set to sing with them on the song Just Like Honey.
Strong sets were also delivered by Arcade Fire, LCD Soundsystem, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Rage Against The Machine.
