Manchester International Festival: An Event You Do Not Want To Miss

It’s time to make plans for the International Music Series at the Manchester International Festival, a 16-day event that you don’t want to miss. The festival celebrates emerging and established artists to showcase the influence of Manchester in an international context.

The festival has something for the world as a whole. Internationally acclaimed artists from far and wide will be performing from June 29th through the end on July 14th, including PJ Harvey, Beth Orton, The Blue Nile and Happy Mondays in addition to big names like Kanye West and Smokey Robinson. PJ Harvey will be appearing for the first time in the UK on Saturday, July 7th, 7/7/07 a day of luck and a day of great music. The weekend is jammed with hits as it’s followed up by the beloved Happy Mondays on Sunday, July 8th.
 
Folk-pop fans will be uniting on Friday, July 13th to hear Beth Orton who will be sharing the day with Bert Jansch and Bernard Butler. With over twelve singles Beth Orton is one that you certainly will not want to miss out on. Let’s not forget the finale performed by The Blue Nile on Saturday, July 14th. The Blue Nile has collaborated with amazing artists such as Annie Lennox, Peter Gabriel and The Devlins.  From Glasgow, Scotland this band is an a famed alternative rock band who ranges from using electric synthesizers to going acoustic on guitar.
