Superchunk will Play Eff Cancer Benefit In Chicago
By: Spacelab Research Staff
Who said Superchunk was gone forever? The Chapel Hill band of yore will surface on June 20th for an Eff Cancer Benefit show at Chicago's the Metro. It will raise funds for a form of cancer called Chordoma and is put together by Superchunk Superfan Sean Silver, who has been diagnosed with Chordoma.
The gig will also include an appearance by The Mountain Goats and a yet to be named special guest.
Superchunk's Mac McCaughan and Laura Ballance are the peeps who founded the Merge Records label back in 1989 to have control over their own musical destiny. The label has grown in the past (almost) twenty years to include names like Arcade Fire, Lambchop, Nuetral Milk Hotel, Robert Pollard, and a long list of notable names.
