Canadian new quirk-folk band Mother Mother are hitting the road today to tell show the masses the new live gig around their album Touch Up. They're good people. They're... well, folk-folk (t was just too tempting... I had to put it that way).
Although on first glance, the album cover on the new album Touch Up comes off with a George Steinbeck / Of Mice and Men vibe, listening to the album reveals something deeper and more modern. Mother Mother make a sort of folk-influenced quirky version of pop music, cued up in a short song format. It's cool. Definitely worthy of the word CONTEXT, their music reveals more with each pass. Lots of detours too.
Lucky Canadians get most of the dates, but they'll hit U.S. hotspots like New York and Los Angeles too. The Los Angeles gig is with Fred Perry Subculture as part of the Club NME joint at Spaceland in Silverlake.
