Shout Out Louds

Shout Out Louds Sign to Merge Records

By: Christy Mannering
Not only did Shout Out Louds recently have an album produced by Bjorn Yttling of Peter Bjorn and John, now they've signed with Merge Records. The new album, Our Ill Wills, won’t be out until September 11, 2007 in the US even though it was released in their home country of Sweden in April.  Don’t worry, Merge Records will release the single Tonight I Have to Leave It later this summer.

Their first album Howl Howl Gaff Gaff, was so successful they toured internationally for months on end to promote it. It was only months after the album was released globally that song Wish I Was Dead Pt. 2 was picked up by the television show The OC and included on their soundtrack for season 5.

The first single of Our Ill Wills, Tonight I Had To Leave includes a collaboration with The Essex Green from the Elephant 6 label. Making friends in the right places led Shout Out Louds singer Bebban Stenborg to the stage for to add female vocals for Peter Bjorn & John at Coachella 2007, and Ted Malmros won a Swedish Grammi for directing one of Peter Bjorn and John’s videos. No  word on an American tour yet as they’re booked touring Europe this summer through mid-August, but stay tuned.
