Sunset Rubdown To Release Random Spirit Lover in October
By: Spacelab Research Staff
Always the prolific guy, Spencer Krug and his partners in crime Sunset Rubdown are getting ready to release a new album on Jagjaguwar Records. Titled Random Spirit Lover, the album consists of twelve tracks and will be released in October.
The Jajajguwar release shows that the band has made a jump from Absolutely Kosher Records to their new home of Jagjaguwar. Absolutely Kosher released the first Sunset Rubdown album, Shut Up I am Dreaming, last year. You can check out the song Stadiums and Shrines from that release right now on the Galaxy Media Player on the audio channel.
Spencer's enlisted Jordan Robson Cramer, Mike Doerksen, and Camilla Wynn Ingr to go along for the ride with him. They're creating all sorts of music that goes all over the musical map... It's all pianos and guitars and catharsis, working you over until no part of you is left unaltered. It's lo-fi and big and bombastic at the same time.
Susnset Rubdown is out touring with Xiu Xiu right now and doing the occasional special appearance like their recent Daytrotter session.
