Elijah Wood Will Play Iggy Pop in Biopic

By: Spacelab Research Staff
With perhaps a nod to the recently debuted Ian Curtis biopic, there's an Iggy Pop biopic in the works, and indie label entrepeneur (Simian Records) and actor Elijah Wood has been confirmed to play the part of the emancipated Iggy Pop.

The film will be titled the Passenger, and will tell the tale of Iggy and the Stooges as they rose to fame and demise and then fame again.

The Passenger will be directed by Nick Gomez (Drowning Mona) and is scheduled to be underway before the year is done with a tentative release date of summer 2008.

There's no word on how long it will take him to go from his Day Zero look (see above) to the long-haired Iggy, but he's definitely got his work cut out for him.
