When we last counted, Xiu Xiu was busy expanding from two to three members. Now their ambitious climb has taken them to four with the addition of Devin Hoff on bass. What's next, the Xiu Xiu franchise? Xiu Xiu corporate? Probably not, but the band is steadily climbing in the collective unconscious that is the music world.
Xiu Xiu is currently working on a new release for 2008 that features collaborations with Michael Gira, John Dieterich, and Howard Wiley. Greg Saunier is doing the knob twiddling. You can also catch Jamie Stewart in various west cost cities this June doing things like this, albeit as a solo performance.
