Manic Street Preachers Prep Send Away The Tigers and Summer UK Tour
By: Jenny An Manic Street Preachers, a.k.a. the boys from Blackwood, will release their 8th studio album, Send Away The Tigers, on July 24th. It’s their first album since 2005’s Lifeblood as well as solo projects by both guitar and vocalist James Dean Bradford and Nick Wire, bassist and lyricist for the band. Released in the UK in May, it shot to second place on the charts, just below The Arctic Monkeys.
Their lead off single, “Your Love Alone is Not Enough,” features Cardigans vocalist Nina Persson in a blend of the band’s signature soaring vocals over heavier, more aggressive drums and bass.
In support, The Manics briefly played the UK in early June to six sold out shows. They’ll continue their tour by hitting up the UK festival scene until mid-August, including Glastonbury and the V Festival.
