Richard Hawley - Tonight The Streets Are Ours video

And they’ll go down in history:
Richard Hawley’s new album, Lady’s Bridge

By: Christy Mannering
October might seem like far away, but really it’s not. And that’s a good thing, because then we would have to wait longer for the release of Richard Hawley’s solo album due out on October 2nd. Lady’s Bridge will be Hawley’s second release on Mute Records.

Hawley’s last album Cole’s Corner was listed as one of the UK’s best albums for the year 2005. So it will be interesting to see if Lady’s Bridge can stand up to the claimed fame since it does follow suit in naming conventions. Like Cole’s Corner, Lady’s Bridge is another historical landmark being the oldest bridge in the city of Sheffield, England.

Joining him in the eleven new songs will be John Trier (keyboards), Shez Sheridan (guitar) and Dean Beresford (drums). Colin Elliot is bassist and co-producer, as well as being the arranger for the 16-piece string orchestra on the album’s opener “Valentine.”

Look for the album’s first single, “Tonight The Streets Are Ours” to be released on August 20th. The release will be available on two CD versions, one including a B-Side of Vickers Rd., and a 7", as well as a digital version.
