Citay To Release New Album On New Dead Oceans Label
By: Spacelab Research Staff Dead Oceans, the new label brought to us by the same people who gave us Jagjaguwar Records and Secretly Canadian, have signed a new member to their family: the San Francisco-based band Citay.
According to Dead Oceans, Citay's sound is "psychedelic excess, rock guitar balladry, and epic songwriting," and most comparisons have put them alongside Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, albeit in a more folk-like or sun-drenched way.
The band is working on the follow up to last year's self-titled album which is tentatively scheduled for this Fall. There's no release date or title yet, but details are due out sometime soon, according to the label. Citay is currently working on the album with Tim Green in San Francisco.
