Sub Pop Signs Gutter Twins Mark Lanegan and Greg Dulli

Mark Lanegan (Mark Lanegan, Screaming Trees) and Greg Dulli (Afghan Whigs, The Twilight Singers) have signed to Sub Pop Records, according to a recent article posted on Pitchfork. The two have been working together since 2003, and have been crafting some new material for a while now. They're calling themselves the Gutter Twins.
So what does it sound like? Nobody really knows... they're operating in a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-like way, making music in their secret lair with the help of small gnomes, biding their time.
A recent post on their MySpace page says "the recording of the record is yet to be completed and there has been no
discussion as to who will release it when it is done. Because of this, we are keeping our hand close to the vest and until the music is fit for public consumption we will not post any songs."
And that's the way it will be... nobody ever goes into the lair, and no music ever comes out... until Sub Pop announces a release date that is. Maybe we'll get lucky and get a MySpace posting of music sometime before the album comes out.
